Tony Swinnerton has been a practising solicitor since 1973, working at William A Crump & Son before setting up in practice as Swinnerton Ashley-Claydon & Co and subsequently as Swinnertons.

He specialises in all aspects of dry shipping contentious matters and has conducted many arbitrations and High Court cases, acting predominantly for shipowners and their insurers, traders and charterers.

Lewis Moore has been a practising solicitor since 1976, operating under his own account since 1987.  He specialises in ship sale and purchase, ship finance and all shipping related and contentious matters.

Acting for the (ultimately successful) charterers in the case of the ACHILLEAS, Lewis has been involved in a number of other reported cases.

He takes an active role in the management of the firm and was responsible for guiding the practice through its Lexcel Accreditation in 2004.  Lewis is an accredited CEDR mediator.

Joe Atkinson has 24 years of post qualification experience which includes general shipping litigation with special emphasis on collision, salvage, fire and explosion and  machinery breakdown, as well as cargo loss and damage cases.

A Registered European Lawyer, Jaime graduated in Law in 2003 with a major in European Law and holds a LLM degree in International Maritime Law. He commenced his professional career as a lawyer in Spain before becoming a shipping lawyer in the UK. Jaime has practiced shipping both in Spain and the UK although he spent most time in London where he has practiced in-house and in private practice. He was a claims executive for one of the international P&I Clubs and a shipping lawyer in two City firms. His experience covers all aspects of shipping including charterparty and bill of lading disputes, cargo claims, claims arising under marine insurance policies, collision, oil pollution and commodity trade disputes.

In addition to English, he speaks Spanish and Italian with a basic understanding of French.

Adam joined Swinnerton Moore in 2004 as a Consultant. His extensive experience covers all aspects of shipping, marine insurance and the commodity trades including charterparty and bill of lading disputes, cargo claims, general average, claims arising under marine insurance policies (hull, freight, cargo and charterers liability), collision, salvage, wreck removal, oil pollution, joint ventures, agency, shipbuilding and financing agreements, sale and purchase of ships and commodity trade disputes.

Adam is an accredited Mediator by the London Shipping Law Centre and is a member of the Association of Average Adjusters and a supporting member of the L.M.A.A.

Called to the Bar in 1975, Peter qualified as a solicitor in 1991 after 12 years with a major group Club. He posseses over 30 years’ experience of maritime matters including P&I claims; FD & D, with emphasis on charter party disputes; S&P and ship finance; pleasure craft claims; defendant injury claims; and insurance litigation.

Maxine deals in all aspects of conveyancing, both residential and commercial, acting for a wide range of clients including developers, landlords, tenants, offshore companies and private individuals. 

She specialises in high value sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties as well as handling general property transactions, including refinancing, renewal of business tenancies, leasing of offices, buy to lets and new build transactions.

Christine joined the firm in May 2011 as an assistant solicitor. With a Master’s Degree in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton, Christine also holds a Doctorate of Laws from the University of Malta where her studies included commercial and shipping law. She is a dual qualified solicitor in Malta and England and Wales.

Christine has worked with one of the major IG P&I Club for over two and a half years and her experience includes both P&I and Defence matters.

In addition to English, Christine speaks fluent Maltese and Italian and has a basic understanding of French.

Trudie joined the firm in July 2010 as a trainee solicitor. She holds a degree of LLB from City University London and has completed the Legal Practice Course at The Inns of Court City School of Law.

In addition to English, Trudie is fluent in Greek.

Ksenia Morris has been with Swinnerton Moore LLP since June 2010. She is very experienced in ship registration and off-shore corporations having spent several years with a leading Panamanian law firm.

In 2010 Ksenia completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Maritime Law at Lloyds Maritime Academy achieving a merit.

In addition to assisting the partners in all maritime law matters (including contentious and non-contentious work) she is currently in the final year of her Graduate Diploma in Law course at the College of Law, London.

Being a native speaker of Russian and fluent in English, Ksenia is always happy to discuss any enquiries from clients in either language.
